Why Egyptian cotton for your bedding?

Egyptian cotton — specifically the Giza variety from the Nile Delta — has extra-long fibres (Extra Long Staple). This allows finer yarns to be spun, resulting in a denser weave that feels softer, lasts longer and grows more supple with every wash. Our bedding is 100% Giza cotton, OEKO-TEX certified and woven in Portugal using traditional techniques.

Thread count: 400, 600 or 800 TC?

Thread count is the number of threads per square inch. 400 TC sateen is light and cool — ideal for summer. 600 TC is the sweet spot: silky, supple and comfortable year-round. 800 TC has a denser, heavier feel — perfect for those who love a luxurious, hotel-style look.

Care & washing instructions

Wash at 40°C with a mild detergent — no bleach or fabric softener. Hang straight from the machine or tumble dry on low — Egyptian cotton becomes softer with every wash. Steam ironing brings out the most beautiful sateen sheen.

What makes Egyptian cotton different from regular cotton?

Egyptian cotton has significantly longer fibres (35–45 mm versus 22–28 mm for standard cotton). Longer fibres mean stronger, smoother yarn, less pilling and fabric that stays beautiful for years.
Which sizes are available?

Our duvet covers come in single (140×220), double (200×220), twin (240×220) and king size (260×220). Fitted sheets fit mattresses up to 30 cm deep.
Is your bedding suitable for people with allergies?

Yes. 100% natural fibres, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified — free from harmful chemicals. The dense sateen weave also acts as a barrier against dust mites.
How long does a set of Giza bedding last?

With proper care, at least 7 to 10 years of daily use. It becomes softer with each wash rather than wearing out.
